Luis Garcia, a proud native of The Bronx, has always held a deep passion for the borough that shaped his identity. A frequent sentiment he shares is, "I want to give back to the place that made me who I am," reflecting his unwavering commitment to his community.

Luis is an alumnus of Cardinal Hayes High School ’17 and Manhattan College ‘21, where he laid the academic foundations for his future career. He initially honed his legal and analytical skills at the New York City Law Department, where he spent a formative year working closely with attorneys. During his time there, Luis identified legal and compliance risks, conducted thorough investigations, and provided strategic recommendations to optimize business outcomes. His contributions to refining internal policies and client processes left a lasting impact on the department.

Transitioning from law to economic development, Luis joined the Bronx Economic Development Corporation (BXEDC) with a clear mission: to drive economic growth and opportunity in The Bronx. As Chief of Staff, Luis is now at the forefront of BXEDC’s initiatives to increase capital access for small businesses throughout the borough. He has played a pivotal role in revitalizing loan packages, ensuring that local entrepreneurs have the financial tools they need to succeed. Beyond his work with small businesses, Luis remains deeply involved in a variety of projects aimed at fostering economic development and community revitalization in The Bronx.

Currently, Luis is furthering his expertise by pursuing a Master of Public Administration (MPA) at NYU Wagner. This advanced education underscores his commitment to public service and equips him with the knowledge and skills to continue making impactful contributions to The Bronx.
