MICHAEL NIXON
Credit Analyst/Business Development Officer
Michael Nixon is responsible for underwriting loans for the Bronx Economic Development Corporation, and for generating loans, from the initial contact with a prospective borrower to loan closing. This includes evaluating loan opportunities, pulling credit reports, making site visits, underwriting or reviewing the underwriting of loans, doing a loan write-up, presenting loans to the executive committee of the BXEDC board, working with the attorney on the closing documents and getting all of the appropriate signatures and necessary documents to complete the loan closing. Previous roles at BXEDC have included being the Industrial Business Zone Coordinator for the Zerega Industrial Business Zone, being the Borough President’s representative for two Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), BXEDC’s representative for several community boards and merchants associations and supporting Chamber On The Go, a New York City Department of Small Services program.
Prior to working at BXEDC, Michael worked for AT&T in sales support, marketing and product management in the business-to-business market for telex and Internet services, as well as an independent contractor and consultant for firms in the banking, technology, engineering and other industries, and taught an entrepreneurship course for the New York City Department of Small Business Services. Michael has a BA in philosophy from Haverford College and an MBA in marketing from the University of California, Berkeley.
